Artwork Guidelines
Artwork Guidelines for Posters
- Set up at final size. Build your artwork to the trim size you ordered — A3 (297 × 420mm), A2 (420 × 594mm) or A1 (594 × 841mm) — in portrait or landscape.
- Bleed: add 3mm bleed on all sides so colour runs right to the edge after trimming.
- Safe area: keep important text and logos at least 5mm inside the trim.
- Resolution: 300dpi at final size. If you scale a design up from a smaller size, check it still hits 300dpi so it stays sharp at poster scale.
- Colour: supply in CMYK. RGB and Pantone files are converted to CMYK and may shift slightly — large flat colour areas show this most, so check your proof.
- Large solids: very dark backgrounds print best as a rich black (e.g. C40 M30 Y30 K100) rather than 100% K alone.
- Format: print-ready PDF preferred (fonts embedded or outlined). We also accept high-res JPG, PNG and TIFF.
- Single vs double sided: for double sided, clearly label the front and back artwork.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes do you print?
A3 (297 × 420mm), A2 (420 × 594mm) and A1 (594 × 841mm), in portrait or landscape. For a non-standard size, request a custom quote.
What is the minimum order?
250 posters on most stocks, dropping to 50 on heavyweight 250gsm and select A1 stocks. These are bulk litho posters, so they’re most cost-effective in volume. If you only need a handful of large-format posters, ask us about a wide-format short run.
Which stock should I choose?
150gsm Gloss is the popular all-rounder. Step up to 170gsm or 250gsm for a heavier, more durable poster, choose 170gsm Matt for a glare-free finish under lights, or 350gsm Artboard for rigid showcards and point-of-sale displays. 115gsm is the economical option for short-life promos.
Gloss or matt?
Gloss makes photographic colour vivid and high-shine. Matt has a smooth, non-reflective surface that’s easier to read under bright or angled lighting and looks more understated.
Are the posters laminated or mounted?
Standard posters are supplied unlaminated and unmounted, delivered flat. If you need lamination, mounting on board, or pull-up/banner options, request a custom quote or see our Pull Up Banners.
How many proofs do I get?
2 free proofs per artwork. Additional proofs are $25 + GST each. Production starts once you approve your proof and payment is received.
