What is a half fold brochure?

A single sheet printed on both sides and folded once down the middle. The fold turns one sheet into four pages: a front cover, two inside pages and a back cover. It is also called a bi-fold, a 4pp brochure or a folded leaflet. Same thing.

Half fold or tri fold, which should I pick?

Half fold gives you four bigger pages that read like a booklet, which suits menus, programs and anything with photography. Tri fold folds to a slim DL panel that suits racks, counters and letterboxes, with six smaller panels that guide the reader in a set order. If your content is a list or a story told in steps, tri fold. If it needs room to breathe, half fold.

Which size do I need?

A4 folded to A5 is the safe default and the most common brochure in Australia, big enough for real content, small enough to hand over. A5 folded to A6 suits orders of service, gig programs and anything pocket sized. A3 folded to A4 is the corporate option, four full A4 pages for capability statements and product brochures.

Which stock should I choose?

Gloss 150gsm is the standard brochure stock, bright colour at the sharpest price. Go 170gsm gloss or matt when you want it to feel more substantial, matt reads more premium and is easier on the eye under cafe lighting. The 250gsm gloss card is stiff enough to stand in a menu holder and take daily handling. The 100gsm uncoated stock is light and writeable, right for order forms and anything with a natural look.

Are both sides printed?

Yes, always. Every half fold brochure is printed in full colour on both sides of the sheet, so all four pages carry print. There is no cheaper one-sided version, a brochure with two blank pages does not do its job.

Can you print a different fold, or more pages?

Yes. The three panel version folded to DL is our Tri Fold Brochure, on the site now. For Z folds, gate folds or stitched booklets of 8 pages and more, send the details through our contact page and we will quote it. If you need more than 10,000 copies, ask, larger runs usually bring the unit price down further.

How fast will I get them?

Printing and folding takes approximately 3 to 4 working days after your artwork is approved and paid, and we confirm the dispatch date when you order. Delivery time after dispatch depends on the courier and your location, so please allow for that on a deadline job and tell us the date you are working to.

Will the fold crack the print?

On the standard paper stocks the fold is clean. Heavy solid ink over the fold line on the 250gsm card can show slight wear at the crease, which is true of any heavy folded card. If your design runs dark solid colour across the fold on 250gsm, we will flag it at proof stage and suggest the safest setup.

Do you design them?

Yes. If you do not have print-ready artwork we can design the brochure for you. Send us your logo, your content and any photos through our contact page and we will quote the design work with the print.
