A blind embossed business card carries your logo raised out of the paper itself – no ink, no coating, just light, shadow and texture. It is the most understated finish in printing, and the one people cannot stop touching.
Real embossing, pressed to order
This is traditional embossing: a custom die presses your design through thick cotton stock from behind. Production takes 10-13 business days from artwork approval, plus express delivery. Need raised texture sooner? Our Scodix range creates a raised gloss effect with much faster turnaround.
Stock and combinations
Pressed into Wild Cotton White 450gsm. The classic spec is a blind emboss on the front with a blank back. Emboss combined with flat print, foil, coloured stocks or two-sided designs? A range of premium stocks, including duplexed heavyweights, and combination finishes are available – request a quote or email [email protected].
Artwork for embossing
Embossing needs a clean vector file: outlined-font vector PDF, 3mm bleed. Bold, simple shapes emboss best – very fine detail can lose definition in thick cotton. We check every file and you approve a PDF proof (two free amendment rounds) before the die is made.

What is blind embossing?
Embossing with no ink or foil: a custom die raises your design out of the paper, so the card reads through light and shadow. “Blind” simply means the raised area is unprinted – the classic, minimal look.
How long do embossed business cards take?
Production is 10-13 business days from artwork approval, then express delivery (typically 1-3 business days depending on destination). A custom embossing die is made for every design.
Can I combine embossing with print or foil?
Yes – embossing pairs beautifully with flat print or foil on the same card. Those combinations are quoted individually: tell us what you have in mind and we will price it.
What designs emboss best?
Bold logos, monograms and simple shapes. Very fine lines and small type can lose definition when pressed into 450gsm cotton – we review every file and flag anything that will not press cleanly before you approve the proof.
What artwork do I need to supply?
A vector PDF with fonts outlined and 3mm bleed, with the embossed area as a solid vector shape. Ask us to check your file when you request your quote – you approve a PDF proof before production.
Delivery Details
Production for this range is 10-13 business days from artwork approval – each order is pressed and finished as its own job, and we never start production before your proof is approved and paid.
Delivery is free Australia wide by express service (Australia Post Express), typically 1-3 business days after dispatch depending on your location. You will receive a dispatch email with tracking. As with all our products, arrival dates are estimates – once an order ships, timing sits with the courier and cannot be guaranteed.
