Artwork Guidelines
Artwork Guidelines for Bookmarks
- Finished size: 210 × 55mm. Set your document up at this size.
- Bleed: add 2mm bleed on every edge (artwork 214 × 59mm).
- Safe area: keep all text and logos at least 3mm inside the trim edge.
- Resolution: supply images at 300dpi at final size for sharp results.
- Colour: build artwork in CMYK. We convert all files to CMYK for print, so RGB colours may shift.
- Format: print-ready PDF preferred (fonts embedded or outlined). We also accept high-resolution JPG, PNG, TIFF, AI, EPS, INDD and PSD.
- Double sided? Clearly supply both the front and back as separate pages or files.
- Hole punching: if you plan to add a tassel, leave the top ~10mm clear of important content. Let us know in your order notes.
Every order includes 2 free proofs. We don’t print until you’ve approved your artwork.
A note on solid black and dark colours
Choosing the matt laminate finish? Matt lamination softens ink colour: large areas of solid black and very dark colours such as navy, deep green and burgundy print softer and lighter than they appear on screen, and this cannot be shown on a screen proof. If a true jet black or a deep, saturated dark colour is essential to your design, choose the gloss finish, or contact us before ordering and we will help you choose.

What size are the bookmarks?
A standard 210 × 55mm, printed on heavyweight 350gsm stock. Need a different size? Ask for a custom quote.
What is the difference between the board and recycled stock?
The 350gsm Board is a smooth coated stock that holds rich colour and can be gloss or matt laminated. The 350gsm EcoStar is a 100% recycled, uncoated board with a natural feel and a writable surface, supplied unlaminated.
Should I choose gloss or matt laminate?
Gloss laminate gives a shiny, vibrant, hard-wearing finish. Matt laminate gives a soft, premium, fingerprint-resistant feel. Both protect the bookmark and make it last longer. Laminate is available on the board stock, one side or both.
Can I have them printed on both sides?
Yes, choose 2 Sides for full-colour print front and back at no surprise cost; the price updates automatically.
Can the bookmarks be hole-punched for a tassel?
We can add a hole for a tassel or ribbon on request. Leave the top ~10mm of your artwork clear and note it in your order, or contact us to arrange it.
How long does printing take?
Approximately 4–6 working days to dispatch after you approve your proof and payment is received. Delivery time on top is courier dependent.
