Textured Felt Rectangle Labels, the Classic Wine Label

If you picture a premium wine label, you are almost certainly picturing this stock. Textured felt rectangle labels have a bright white face with a genuine embossed felt texture, printed in full colour and finished with a soft matt varnish. It is the go-to choice for wine, gin and craft spirits, and just as at home on candles, cosmetics and gourmet food packaging.

The stock is manufactured with wet-strength properties, so labels keep performing in ice buckets and refrigerated shelves, and the aggressive acrylic adhesive bonds firmly to glass and coated surfaces. It also contains 30% post-consumer recycled content for eco-conscious brands.

Artwork Guidelines

Artwork Guidelines for Textured Felt Labels

Size: set up your artwork at the ordered label size plus bleed. Rectangle labels can be applied portrait or landscape, so set your artwork orientation to match how the label will sit on the product.
Bleed: add 2mm bleed beyond the cut edge so the print runs right to the edge.
Safe area: keep text and logos at least 3mm inside the cut edge.
Colour on texture: the felt texture softens large flat areas of ink slightly, which is part of the premium look. Fine text below 6pt is best avoided.
Files: PDF, AI or EPS with fonts outlined, CMYK, 300dpi. Upload with your order and we check it at the proof stage.

What is textured felt stock?

It is a bright white premium paper with an embossed felt texture pressed into the face, the finish used on most boutique wine and spirit labels. It prints full colour and is protected with a matt varnish.

Which size do I need for a wine bottle?

The most common front label on a 750ml bottle is around 90 x 120mm or 100 x 80mm, with 55 x 90mm popular for back labels. Order the size that suits your bottle and send us your dieline or measurements if you are unsure, we will confirm at the proof stage.

Will these labels survive an ice bucket?

Yes. The stock is manufactured with wet-strength properties for moist environments and the adhesive is an aggressive acrylic that bonds firmly to glass. Prolonged submersion will eventually affect any paper label, but they are made for exactly this use.

Are they eco-friendly?

The face stock contains 30% post-consumer recycled content, making it a good choice for brands with sustainability commitments.

Are the labels supplied on a roll or a sheet?

On rolls of 500 labels on 76mm diameter cores, ready for hand application or machine application.

Do you offer proofs?

Yes, every order includes 2 free proofs. We convert your files to CMYK and nothing prints until you approve the proof.
